As you may have seen from our Twitter feed the adomedia team like to keep up to date with the latest movements in the digital and technology world, and with musical staff both past and present the ado studio has always had practical connections with the music industry.

With that in mind we’re understandably excited by the growing synergy between the two industries, especially with streaming services becoming more intelligent and making music even more accessible, most recently with the release of Apple Music. It’s no secret then, that when data driven music platform Beatroot approached us to help with their new brand direction we were more than happy to help.

Beatroot is a music intelligence platform that automatically processes complex metadata from a music catalogue to decode intelligent information from every track and artist. Using a combination of Genre, Mood, BPM, Lyrics, Instrumentation and Era you can curate shortlists of relevant tracks with the beautiful, user friendly interface.

Taking into consideration how the platform creates a rich set of data from a tracks most basic elements we ran with the idea of the ‘Root’. We incorporated a root symbol into the logo’s typeface, using the ‘R’ and the ‘O’ to develop an iconic brand mark that can work as part of the text or as a stand alone symbol. Using a soft, rounded sans serif typeface we were able to give the logo a modern and approachable feel.

As part of the brand direction we helped produce a stationery suite including business cards, letterheads and compliments slips, along with a overhaul of Beatroot’s social identity.
